Get Up and Go logoPrizes

The Core Challenge: All participants achieving 150 minutes (2 hrs 30 min) of activity each week are entered into a random drawing for an aluminum water bottle. Each week there will be 50 prizes available. Participants may only win once in this category.

High-intensity Challenge: Participants achieving 75 minutes (1 hr 15 min) of high-intensity activity each week will be entered into a drawing for a multi-function pedometer at the end of the challenge. There are 50 prizes available in this category.

Top 5: At the end of the challenge, the five participants with the highest minutes of activity will receive a $50 gift card to a sporting goods store.

The Ultimate Challenge: Everyone who tracks a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity per day for all 42 days will be entered into a drawing for a multi-functional pedometer. There are 50 prizes available in this category.

Donated Prizes: There will also be random and surprise drawings for prizes that participants are eligible for throughout the challenge. Donated prizes include recreation passes and fitness center memberships.

Get Up and Go logoOfficial Rules

Get Up and Go is a six week physical activity challenge for people who live, work and play in Carver County. The purpose of Get Up and Go is to encourage resident and employees in Carver County to be active and increase their levels of physical activity. Participants register and track their minutes of activity on www.gocarvergo.org. Teams are comprised of worksites and cities. The challenge begins on April 30th. Registration opens on April 2nd. Participants are eligible for random prize drawings and prizes for achieving the highest minutes of activity for their team.

The Get Up and Go challenge is sponsored by Carver County Public Health, therefore Carver County employees who participate in the Get Up and Go challenge are not eligible for donated prizes.

Online Participation Waiver

Each participant must agree to the following waiver when registering:

I am over 18 years old. I wish to participate voluntarily in the Get Up and Go challenge for the purpose of physical fitness and fun. I understand that I should consult with a physician before beginning a new exercise plan. I understand that I should have medical approval from my health-care provider if I:

WHEREAS, Carver County has established a physical activity program for residents and employees; and WHEREAS, this program is being set up at no cost to participants; THEREFORE, in consideration of my participation in this program at no cost to me, I hereby release the County, its agents and employees from any and all liability for injury or property damage that occurs while participating in this program. I also agree that the Carver County Public Health Department, or its designee, has the right to publish the names of Get Up and Go challenge winners in print and electronic communications including news items, promotional materials, and on the Web.

I acknowledge that I have read the above paragraphs, that I understand them, and that I participate in the Get Up and Go challenge at my own risk. Further, I have no medical condition that prevents me from participating in this program.
